A woman is seeking damages for an alleged fall in a Walmart

GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages for an alleged fall at a Walmart.

Ernestine Cooper filed a complaint on Sept. 10 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Walmart Stores and Sam's Club East Inc., dba Sam's Club.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Dec. 2, 2017 when the plaintiff was at the Sam's Club at 3900 Airline Drive in Metairie. The plaintiff alleges that she was caused to trip and fall on a wooden board that was protruding into a walkway, resulting in injuries.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by George Recile of Chehardy, Sherman, Williams, Murray, Recile, Stakelum & Hayes LLP in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael Mentz.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 787447.
