University student faces lawsuit over room and board debt

GRETNA –– The University of Louisiana is pursuing litigation against a student for alleged nonpayment of room and board.

University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through University of Louisiana at Lafayette filed a complaint on Sept. 18 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Whitley M. Johnson.

According to the complaint, the defendant owes an outstanding balance of $1,202.66 for room and board costs. The defendant is accused of sums due.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Amy D. Richard of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Stephen D. Enright Jr.
