Louisiana State University pursues unpaid student loan

GRETNA –– A Jefferson Parish resident faces a lawsuit over an alleged unpaid student loan and university fees.

Louisiana State University Board of Supervisors through Louisiana State University filed a complaint on June 12 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Deondra Monique Coleman.

According to the complaint, the defendant failed to pay an outstanding balance of $3,568.78 plus interest.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Scott L. Smith Jr. of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
