Woman names Atmos Energy in claim stemming from alleged gas leak

GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages for an unexpected gas leak.

June Williams filed a complaint on Sept. 27 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Atmos Energy Corp.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Oct. 9, 2017 when the plaintiff was at the property at 1005 Kingsway Drive E. in Terry Town, which receives natural gas service provided by Atmos Energy Corp. The suit states the plaintiff was caused personal injury when she was exposed to a gas leak that resulted in her own illness.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Edward D. Womac Jr of the Law Offices of Edward Womac Jr. & Associates in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee Faulkner Jr.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 788049.
