Woman seeks damages after fall in a Laborie's Budget Saver

GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages for a fall.

Lisa Jackson filed a complaint on Oct. 5 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Laborie's Budget Saver No. 2 and Laborie Food Mart Inc.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Oct. 6, 2017 when the plaintiff was at the defendant's property at 1900 Lafayette St. The suit states the plaintiff was caused injury when she slipped and fell on a substance on the ground resulting in pain and the need for medical attention.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Joseph LaHatte III of LaHatte Law Firm LLC in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy Miller.
