Woman seeks damages, claiming she fell in a Winn Dixie

GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages for a fall in a Winn Dixie.

Irza Martinez filed a complaint on Oct. 22 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Winn Dixie Motgomery LLC, dba Winn Dixie Store No. 1412.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on July 6 when the plaintiff was a guest of the Winn Dixie at 2104 Williams Blvd. in Kenner. The suit states the plaintiff was caused to slip and fall when a cooler leaked water onto the ground and the liquid was left to stand.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Frank D'Amico Jr in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy Miller.
