Couple seeks damages following alleged robbery at Omni Hotel

NEW ORLEANS – A couple is seeking damages after they allege they were robbed in a hotel.

Gregory and Michelle Santangelo filed a complaint on Oct. 22 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Omni Hotels Management Corp.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident which took place on Sept. 1, when the plaintiffs were staying in the defendant's hotel. The suit states that the plaintiffs were sleeping in their room when three intruders entered the room, assaulting, robbing and videotaping the plaintiffs.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Amanda Hunt of Huber, Slack, Thomas & Marcelle LLP in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Nakisha Ervin-Knott.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 18-10608.
