Man claims he fell in a furniture warehouse

NEW ORLEANS – A man is seeking damages for a fall in a furniture store.

Joseph Luke Shields filed a complaint on Oct. 19 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Red Sauce Properties LLC, Hotel Furniture Liquidators LLC, Jarrod Broussard, and an insurance company.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Jan. 27, when the plaintiff was visiting 7759 Townsend Place when he was caused to slip and fall on a defective platform.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by James Shields of Shields Law Firm in Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper Griffin.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 2018-10574.
