Woman alleges she was struck by an Uber driver

GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages after she allegedly was injured by a rideshare driver.

Michelle Ventry filed a complaint on Nov. 2 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Diane Fontenot; Allstate Insurance Co.; Uber, dba Raiser LLC; and James River Insurance Co.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on March 28 when the plaintiff was in a Chevrolet Equinox that was operated by an Uber driver. The suit states that the defendant was also operating a vehicle and struck the Uber car she was riding in, causing injury to the plaintiff.

The defendant is accused of negligence and reckless driving.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Pierre Gaudin of Gaudin and Gaudin in Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Danyelle Taylor.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 789131.
