State's Disastaer Recoevry Unit seeks over $66,000

GRETNA – The State of Louisiana is seeking damages for sums due of more than $66,000.

The State of Louisiana Division of Administration Office of Community Development Disaster Recovery Unit filed a complaint on Nov. 2 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Catherine Duhon Ordone.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for sums due on a government-funded grant. The defendant was supplied with a grant with the understanding they would comply with the requirements of the grant. The defendant, however, has failed to pay off the balance owed in the sum of $66,964.04 plus interest.

The defendant is accused of sums due on an unpaid account to the local government.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. 

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael Mentz.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 789312.
