GRETNA –– A shareholder accuses two companies of damaging her stocks' value in a recent lawsuit.

Louise M. Hampton filed a complaint on Nov. 12 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Churchill Farms Inc., and Bayou Verret Lands LLC.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff owns just over 21 shares of stock in Churchill Farms and a 15 percent interest in Bayou Verret. She claims the defendants' actions over the last several months have hurt her status as a shareholder. The plaintiff sought amicable resolution with the defendants to no avail, the complaint states.

The plaintiff wants the court to order the defendants to pay fair market value for her shares. She is also seeking damages and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Matthew A. Sherman of Chehardy, Williams, Murray, Recile, Stakelum & Hayes LLP in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.
