Shopper sues after lamp allegedly topples from shelf at Marshalls

GRETNA – Linda Richard filed a complaint on Nov. 16 in the 24th Judicial District Court against TJX Cos. Inc., Marshalls and Zurich American Insurance Co., alleging she was injured while shopping when a lamp fell from a shelf.

The plaintiff is seeking damages for the alleged incident, on Feb. 10, when she was shopping at Marshalls, located at 1200 S. Clearview Parkway. 

The suit states that the plaintiff was injured when a brass lamp allegedly fell from a display shelf and struck the her shoulder, arm and hands. The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney's fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Darleen M. Jacobs in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.
