Woman seeks damages for a fall in a bank branch

GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages for fall at a bank.

Julie Villafane filed a complaint on Nov. 2 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Metairie Bank & Trust and Federal Insurance Co.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Dec. 26, 2017, when the plaintiff was a guest of Metairie Bank & Trust. The plaintiff alleges she was caused to trip and fall on a mat that had been placed over the threshold of the doorway, which led to the plaintiff falling and striking her face to the ground.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failure to prevent incident from taking place.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Kathryn Wiedorn of Pelleteri & Wiedorn LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 789202.
