Southeast Louisiana claims former student owes more than $3,200

GRETNA – A university is seeking more than $3,200 from a student.

University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through Southeastern Louisiana University filed a complaint on Nov. 26 in the 24th Judicial District Court against De'Naiereo Simmons.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for sums due on an open account. The suit states the defendant has remained negligent in a balance due to the plaintiff. The plaintiff is seeking payment in the amount of $3,205.64 plus interest of 33.3 percent of the outstanding balance. Despite amicable demand, the plaintiff has failed to pay off the balance due.

The defendant is accused of sums due on an open account.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Jessie Cannon of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Danyelle Taylor.
