Woman alleges she slipped and fell in a Walmart

GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages for a slip and fall in a Walmart.

Lourdes Reanos Cruz filed a complaint on Dec. 4 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Walmart Inc.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on June 19. The plaintiff was at the Walmart located at 1501 Manhattan Blvd. in Harvey when she allegedly was caused to slip and fall on a slippery substance that was left on the ground. The plaintiff claims that the defendant ought to have cleaned up the substance and/or placed a warning sign regarding the substance's presence.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failure to take appropriate action.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Jonathan Cook of Wall, Bullington & Cook LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Danyelle Taylor.
