Supermarket shopper claims she fell on a wooden pallet

GRETNA – An individual is seeking damages for a fall in a supermarket when she was caused to become stuck in a wooden pallet.

Melvileen Bellow filed a complaint on Dec. 3 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Zuppardo's Economical Supermarket LLC, Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Co. and XYZ Insurance Co.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that allegedly took place on Dec. 5, 2017 when the plaintiff was a customer at Zuppardo's Economical Supermarket at 5010 Veterans Memorial Blvd. The plaintiff says she found her foot stuck between pallets and fell on the ground. The plaintiff alleges the defendant should not have left the pallet where it was.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failing to take the appropriate actions to prevent injury.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Andrew Lemmon of Lemmon Law Firm LLC in Hahnville.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond Steib Jr.
