State's Disaster Recovery Unit files court action seeking over $37,500 in sums due

GRETNA – The State of Louisiana is seeking over $37,500 in sums due.

The State of Louisiana Division of Administration Office of Community Development Disaster Recovery Unit filed a complaint on Dec. 3 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Robert Cockerham Jr.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an unpaid loan that was given to the defendant to make repairs on the defendant's property. The suit states the plaintiff is seeking payment of $37,500 in sums due from the defendant, which remains unpaid despite amicable demand from the plaintiff.

The defendant is accused of sums due on an unpaid account.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Mary Catherine Cali of Shows, Cali & Walsh LLP in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Stephen Enright Jr.
