State's disaster unit is seeking repayment of $37,500 from a resident who failed to pay back a grant

GRETNA – The State of Louisiana is seeking $37,500 from a resident.

The State of Louisiana Division of Administration Office of Community Development Disaster Recovery Unit filed a complaint on Dec. 10 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Tywn Allen, aka Tywan N. Allen, aka Twan Nathasha Allen.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for sums due for a grant lent to the defendant. The suit states the plaintiff lent the defendant a balance that was meant to be repaid after the defendant had used the funds to make certain repairs. The plaintiff, however, has yet to receive the payment and is seeking $37,500 in sums due on the grant.

The defendant is accused of sums due on a balance lent.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by John Wash of Shows, Cali & Walsh LLP of Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott Schlegel.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 790298.
