Louisiana seeks $30,000 on an unpaid disaster recovery loan, claiming that a woman failed to pay back a grant

GRETNA – The state of Louisiana is seeking $30,000 from a resident.

The State of Louisiana Division of Administration Office of Community Development Disaster Recovery Unit filed a complaint on Dec. 10 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Patricia Garretson Duconge.

The suit states that the plaintiff lent the defendant funds that were to be repaid after the defendant had used the funds to make repairs. The plaintiff, however, has yet to receive the payment and is seeking $30,000 in sums due.

The defendant is accused of sums due on an unpaid loan.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by John Walsh of Shows, Cali & Walsh LLP in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 790313.
