Disaster Recovery Unit seeks over $37,000 on unpaid loan

GRETNA – The state of Louisiana is seeking more than $37,500 from a resident.

The State of Louisiana Division of Administration Office of Community Development Disaster Recovery Unit filed a complaint on Dec. 11 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Deidre Battiste and Todd Battiste.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for sums due on a loan. The suit states the defendant has failed to pay off a grant that was lent by the plaintiff and meant to be paid back. The plaintiff is currently seeking payment of $37,500 together with interest and attorney's costs.

The defendant is accused of sums due on a loan.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by John Walsh of Shows, Cali & Walsh LLP in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Danyelle Taylor.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 790320.
