GRETNA – A doctor alleges a breach of contract has damaged him financially.
Joseph F. Uddo Jr., M.D. filed a complaint on Dec. 7 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Jefferson Parish Hospital Service District, dba East Jefferson General Hospital.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for breach of contract. The suit states the plaintiff was licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana. On Dec. 12, 2013, the plaintiff claims he entered into an Emergency Preparedness On-Call & Management Services Agreement. The terms of the agreement noted the plaintiff was to be compensated at a rate of $1,000 per day, seven days a week, prorated for each day that he was on call. On Oct. 18, 2017, plaintiff claims the agreement was terminated. The plaintiff alleges the termination of the contract was a breach of the agreement and that he was caused to suffer unduly for a loss of income.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract.
The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Bobby Ray Malbrough of Orril & Malbrough in Metairie.
