GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages after she allegedly tripped on an unpainted wheel stop.
Sumir Chehl filed a complaint on Dec. 11 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Victory Real Estate Investments LLC and Hanover Insurance Group Inc.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Dec. 16, 2017. The plaintiff was a customer of the defendant's at 725 Veterans Blvd in Metairie. The plaintiff was parked in the handicapped parking spot and when the plaintiff was returning to the vehicle, she was caused to trip and fall over an unpainted wheel stop, which resulted in injuries including a head injury and injury to her wrists and knees.
The defendant is accused of negligence and failing to take the necessary precautions to prevent injury.
The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Marc Bolloni in Metairie.
The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond Steib Jr.
