Nicholls State claims former student owes over $1,800

GRETNA – A university is seeking more than $1,800 in sums due from a former student.

The University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through Nicholls State University filed a complaint on Dec. 19 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Romenia Garcia.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for sums due on an open account. The suit states the plaintiff issued services to the defendant and the defendant remained negligent in the balance due. The defendant is indebted to the plaintiff in the balance $1,889 plus interest.

The defendant is accused of sums due on an open account.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Amy Richard of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 790580.
