La Madeleine diner says restaurant's chair broke underneath her

GRETNA – A customer is seeking damages, alleging she was injured when a faulty chair broke under her weight.

Dyanne Jasper filed a complaint on Dec. 27 in the 24th Judicial District Court against La Madeleine of Louisiana LLC.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on May 25, 2018 when the plaintiff was a guest at La Madeleine of Louisiana. The suit states the plaintiff was caused injury when a leg of the chair she was using broke and caused her to fall to the ground and sustain serious injuries.

The defendant is accused of negligence and creating an unnecessarily dangerous condition.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Tamara Kluger Jacobson in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn Ansardi.
