Plaintiff claims loss of $16,000 in rent revenue when contractor failed to meet deadline

GRETNA – A man is seeking damages after a contractor allegedly failed to finish a project on time.

Roy J. Herbert Jr. filed a complaint on Dec. 28 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Nexlevel Construction and Consultants LLC.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Jan. 1, 2018 when the plaintiff hired the defendant to renovate a house that was located at 4320 Laurel St. The suit states the defendant was negligent in completing the project in the allotted time. The plaintiff alleges the defendant's negligence in completing the project resulted in a loss of $16,326 in rent that the plaintiff was not able to receive.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract and failing to complete a project.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by William H. Daume in Gretna.
