American Express claims cardholder failed to pay balance of more than $8,500

GRETNA – A bank is seeking more than $8,500 in sums due.

American Express National Bank filed a complaint on Jan. 2 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Anne Meldon.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for sums due on an open account. The suit states the defendant has failed to pay off a balance in the amount $8,540 plus interest on a credit card balance. The defendant allegedly has failed to pay the plaintiff for the sums due despite amicable demand.

The defendant is accused of sums due on an open account.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Paul Brennan of Couch, Conville & Blitt LLC in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond Steib Jr.
