GRETNA – A man is seeking damages after he suffered a tibial tendon injury during his work on an oil rig.

Wilfred J. Price filed a complaint on Jan. 4 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Anadarko Petroleum Corporation.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Jan. 5, 2018, when the plaintiff was employed by the defendant. The suit states the plaintiff was working on a pump at Deepwater Gateway off of Jefferson Parish and was injured when the incident occurred. The plaintiff claims that due to the design of the pump, he had to balance on pipes and round ladder rungs which caused a great deal of pain in his feet. The suit states that when the plaintiff returned to shore, he was unable to walk without experiencing a great deal of pain. He suffered injuries to his tibial tendons, allegedly due to the strain that he had put on his feet in order to finish a job.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failing to maintain a safe environment.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by W. Thomas Angers in Lafayette.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius Regan.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 790952.
