Taylor, Porter, Brooks & Phillips LLP issued the following announcement on Jan. 9.

Taylor Porter attorney Trey Tumminello received a Baton Rouge Bar Association President's Award for his service in 2018 as the Chair of the BRBA's Belly Up to the Bar event. Tumminello was recognized at the annual BRBA installation ceremony, awards, and reception, held Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana.

Belly Up to the Bar, the annual BRBA fundraiser cook-off competition among law firms, raises money for Youth Education programs, including Teen Court, the High School Mock Trial competition, Law Day, Lawyer in the Classroom and the Junior Partners Academy. "As chair of 2018 Belly Up to the Bar, Trey was faced with finding a new location, adjusting cooking procedures, recruiting cooking teams, including from multiple parishes, and enrolling willing volunteers to assist, and nothing seemed to faze him," said outgoing BRBA President Linda Law Clark.

Tumminello is an associate with Taylor Porter and practices primarily in the areas of commercial transactions, general litigation, and bankruptcy. He has been ranked by his peers for two consecutive years among the 2017 and 2018 Louisiana Rising Stars in Business & Corporate Law.

Tumminello received his J.D. in 2013 from Vanderbilt University Law School. He earned his B.A.in political science in 2010 from the University of Notre Dame, and he currently serves as the President of the Notre Dame Club of South Louisiana.

In the community, Tumminello is a member of the board of directors of LSU Theatre's Swine Palace, which puts on professional productions for college students and serves as a training ground for students in LSU's M.F.A. Professional Actor and Technical/Design Training Programs.
