Woman claims she slipped and fell in an Outback Steakhouse

GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages, alleging that she was caused to slip and fall at an Outback Steakhouse.

Andrea Callais filed a complaint on Jan. 15 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Bloomin' Brands Inc.; Outback Steakhouse of Florida LLC, dba Outback Steakhouse; XYZ Insurance Co.; and ABC Insurance Co.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Feb. 23, 2018 when the plaintiff was in the defendant's restaurant at 2746 Severn Ave. in Metairie. The suit states the plaintiff was caused to fall and sustain injuries due to a slippery condition that was not properly cleaned or warned of.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failure to prevent an incident from taking place.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Frank Ippolito of the Law Offices of Frank D. Ippolito in Chalmette.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius Regan.
