Dollar General named in woman's trip and fall lawsuit

NEW ORLEANS – A woman is seeking damages, alleging she was caused to trip and fall on a rug in a Dollar General.

Rose Derischebourg filed a complaint on Jan. 8 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Dolgencorp LLC, dba Dollar General No. 12090.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Jan. 19, 2018, when the plaintiff was at the Dollar General at 1020 Morrison Road. As the plaintiff was leaving the store, she claims she was caused to catch her foot on a flipped up floor mat, causing her to fall and strike the ground.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failing to prevent an injury from taking place.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorneys Patrick Kehoe Jr. in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Ethel Julien.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 2019-232.
