Cyclist claims he was hit by a truck belonging to Earl's Plumbing & Heating

GRETNA – A man is seeking damages, claiming he was run over while riding his bike.

Kevin Patterson filed a complaint on Jan. 17 in the 24th Judicial District Court against State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co., Earl's Plumbing & Heating LLC and David Beaudon.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for negligence and reckless driving. The suit states the plaintiff was lawfully riding his bike on Oct. 26, 2018, when the plaintiff failed to stop his vehicle at a stop sign. The defendant then allegedly proceeded to run over the plaintiff, causing severe and lasting injuries to the plaintiff.

The defendant is accused of negligence and reckless driving.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Craig Sossaman of The Law Offices of Craig S. Sossaman in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael Mentz. Jr.
