Woman claims she was caused to slip and fall in a Dollar Tree store

GRETNA – A woman alleges she was caused to slip and fall in a Dollar Tree due to a dangerous situation.

Mervat Minias filed a complaint on Jan. 18 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Dollar Tree Stores Inc.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Jan. 22, 2018. The plaintiff alleges she was walking out of the Dollar Tree and was caused to trip and fall on a piece of cardboard that was covering a portion of wet cement. The plaintiff allegedly was caused to slip and fall backwards, resulting in injuries to the plaintiff.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failure to prevent an injury from taking place.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Christopher Minias of The Minias Law Firm in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen Grefer.
