&&& Couple seeks damages for alleged assault outside The Swamp on Bourbon

GRETNA – A couple alleges that they were denied entrance into a bar and then assaulted.

Kyle Strange and Tracey Jacobs filed a complaint on Jan. 18 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Damon Current; 516 Enterprises LLC, dba The Swamp on Bourbon; and XYZ Insurance Co.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages from the defendants for allegedly failing to prevent an incident from taking place. The suit states plaintiffs were at 516 Bourbon St. in New Orleans on Jan. 22, 2018 when the incident took place. The plaintiff was allegedly denied entrance to the venue, despite being of lawful age. After being denied entrance, defendant Current allegedly struck the plaintiff, resulting in injury, including the loss of a tooth.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failing to prevent an incident from taking place.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney's fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by David Spinner of Scott, Vicknair, Hair & Checki in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott Schlegel.
