University files complaint, alleging that a student owes more than $2,000

GRETNA – The University of New Orleans (UNO) alleges that a student owes more than $2,000 on an open account.

The University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors, through UNO, filed a complaint against Marlene Calhoun Wilkerson on Jan. 24 in the 24th Judicial District Court. According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for sums due from the defendant on an open account in the balance of $2,257 plus interest.


The defendant has received amicable demand from the plaintiff but, according to the suit, has failed to pay the balance due.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, including attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Jessie L. Cannon of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.
