Amex claims woman owes more than $61,000

NEW ORLEANS – American Express claims a woman has failed to pay off an open account in the balance of more than $61,000.

American Express National Bank filed a complaint against Karli Pidgeon on Jan. 14 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court. According to the lawsuit, Pidgeon has failed to pay off an open account in the balance of $61,716.99 plus interest. The suit states that the plaintiff has made amicable demand, but to no avail.

American Express seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The company is represented by attorney Edward F. Bukaty III of Metairie.


The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
