Woman sues Winn-Dixie after alleged supermarket fall

GRETNA – A woman alleges that she was caused to slip and fall in a Winn-Dixie supermarket due to negligence on the part of the store's management.

Jacqueline Degrouttola filed a complaint against Winn Dixie Montgomery LLC on Jan. 28 in the 24th Judicial District Court. According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff states that she was at the Winn-Dixie located at 5901 Airline Drive, Metairie, on Nov. 26 when she was caused to slip and fall on a substance that seemed to be leaking from the bottom of a cooler.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failure to prevent an incident. The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. She is represented by William R. Mustian III of Stanga & Mustian in Metairie.


The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.
