Credit union seeks nearly $20,000 due on overdrawn account

GRETNA – A credit union is seeking more than $19,000 in sums due from an overdrawn checking account.

La Capitol Federal Credit Union filed a complaint on Jan. 31 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Carolyn Springman.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for sums due on an open account. The suit states the defendant has failed to pay off a balance of $19,850 plus interest. The balance owed is allegedly due to the defendant overdrawing her checking account.


The defendant is accused of sums due on an unpaid account.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Richard Crawford of Newman, Mathis, Brady & Spedale in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 791752.
