Louisiana seeks $37,500 from couple on an unpaid grant

GRETNA – The State of Louisiana alleges that it is owed more than $37,000 for the misuse of a grant.

State of Louisiana Division of Administration Office of Community Development Disaster Recovery Unit filed a complaint against Donna Borden and Joseph Borden Sr. on Feb. 11 in the 24th Judicial District Court. According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff states that the defendants failed to use a grant for the designated purpose and are now indebted for the total of $37,500.

The defendant's are accused of sums due on an unpaid grant account. The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs.


The state is represented by John C. Walsh of Shows, Cali & Walsh LLP in Baton Rouge. The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Stephen D. Enright.
