GRETNA – A woman is being sued after she allegedly misused Community Development Block Grant funds.
The State of Louisiana Division of Administration Office of Community Development Disaster Recovery Unit filed a complaint Feb. 25 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Kennedra Walton.
According to the complaint, Walton failed to pay back $37,500 that was meant to be used to repair her property but that was misappropriated.
The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. It is represented by John C. Walsh of Shows, Cali & Walsh LLP in Baton Rouge.
The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.
