Mouledoux, Bland, Legrand & Brackett, LLC issued the following announcement on March 18.
Associate Edward J. McAuliffe, III recently presented a “Criminal Law for the Civil Lawyer: A Practical Guide for the Non-criminal Practitioner” CLE at a Multi-Topic CLE Seminar for the Louisiana State Bar Association at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Edward’s CLE covered topics such as arrest and detention, extradition, bail, multiple offender sentencing, and asset forfeiture, among others. Moderated by Hon. Randall L. Bethancourt, 32nd Judicial District Court in Houma, the audience of judges and lawyers were highly engaged in the discussion.
Edward’s practice areas at Mouledoux, Bland, Legrand & Brackett focus on trucking and transportation and insurance defense. However, prior to joining MBLB, he was an Assistant District Attorney in New Orleans, where he rose quickly through the ranks, eventually heading up the District Attorney’s Bond and Asset Forfeiture Division. He represented his office at the Louisiana District Attorney’s Association, aided in overseeing civil litigation, and implemented new policies and procedures both in his office and throughout the New Orleans criminal justice system. He has presented multiple CLEs on criminal law topics throughout his career.
Ed’s criminal law experience is an advantage for his defense clients. He maintains an in-depth knowledge of the criminal court process, and can quickly navigate through tangled webs of criminal processes, documentation, or traffic violations.
