Man claims he slipped and fell while shopping at Rouses Market

GRETNA – A man is suing a supermarket, claiming he was caused to trip and fall on a defective surface.

Paul J. Hubbell Jr. filed a complaint on March 18 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Rouses Market and Rouses Lapalco Leverage Lender LLC.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on April 24, 2018, when the plaintiff was at 2701 Airline Drive in Metairie. The plaintiff was shopping for groceries and claims that as he approached the store he lost his balance due to a defective surface and was caused to fall and be injured.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Gerald Leydecker in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond Steib Jr.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 793320.
