Woman claims she was caused to slip and fall in a Family Dollar store

GRETNA – A woman is suing Family Dollar, alleging she was caused to slip and fall in one of its stores.

Amber Marie Theodore filed a complaint on in the 24th Judicial District Court against Family Dollar Stores of Louisiana Inc., Dollar Tree Stores Inc., Jane Doe, and ABC Insurance Co.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on April 13, 2018, when the plaintiff was in the Family Dollar at 2601 Barataria Blvd. in Marrero. The plaintiff alleges she entered the property and was caused to slip and fall on a liquid that had been left on the ground, resulting in injury.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Scott Richards Samuel of Samuel & Coleman LLC in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
