Man files lawsuit after alleged injury on construction job

GRETNA – An individual is suing a construction company, alleging that he was electrically shocked while on the job.

Ioannis Maroulis filed a complaint on April 1 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Entergy Louisiana LLC, Sigur Construction LLC, Ausi's Builders & Construction LLC, Hotel Investors LC and Expotel Hospitality HIM LLC. According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on April 19, 2018 when the plaintiff was working with Sunbelt at the Hampton Inn located at 2730 N. Causeway Blvd. 

The suit states that the plaintiff was helping to erect a scaffold when he was caused to be shocked suddenly with no warning. The defendant is accused of negligence.


The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by William J. Mitchell II of Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison Jr.
