Grocery store is subject of lawsuit after alleged slip and fall

GRETNA – A man is suing a Metarie grocery store that failed to clean up a puddle of water, alleging that it caused him to fall and be injured.

Leo Galvan filed a complaint against Kaki & Son LLC and 786 LLC on April 16 in the 24th Judicial District Court. According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Feb. 28, when the plaintiff was at the defendant's store and was caused to slip and fall on a puddle of water that had been allowed to accumulate. The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Robert P. Charbonnet Jr. of the Charbonnet Law Firm LLC in Metairie. The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan Jr.
