Woman claims she was injured in a slip and fall at Walmart

GRETNA – A woman is suing Walmart after she was allegedly injured in a slip and fall.

Karen Butler filed a complaint on April 25 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Walmart Louisiana LLC and Walmart Stores Inc.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on May 3, 2018 when the plaintiff was at the Walmart at 4810 Lapalco Blvd. in Marrero. The plaintiff alleges she was caused to slip on water that had been left on the ground, causing in injuries to the plaintiff, both physical and mental.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Leo Caillier III of Caillier & Associates in Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen Grefer.
