JACKSON LEWIS PC: Jackson Lewis Augments Employee Benefits Capabilities with Addition of Stacey C.S. Cerrone in New Orleans

Lawyer

Jackson Lewis P.C. issued the following announcement on Jan. 15.

Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s preeminent workplace law firms, is pleased to announce Stacey C.S. Cerrone has joined the firm’s New Orleans office as a Principal. Ms. Cerrone joins the firm from Proskauer and will focus her practice on the firm’s growing ERISA litigation.

“Stacey is an extremely accomplished ERISA litigator, and we are thrilled that she has decide to join us in New Orleans,” said Office Managing Principal Charles F. Seemann III. “I’ve known her for almost 20 years and am very familiar with her extensive experience in high-stakes litigation. Stacey brings a rare combination of technical proficiency and client-friendly practicality that is emblematic of our group here. We’re all delighted to be working with her again.”

Ms. Cerrone represents plan sponsors, plans, directed trustees, and fiduciaries nationally in all phases of litigation and mediation involving the many aspects of ERISA, including: class actions and individual claims relating to ERISA's fiduciary duty and prohibited transaction provisions; denials of claims for benefits; church plans, defined-benefit plans, severance plans; ERISA Section 510; retiree benefits; ERISA preemption of state law claims; and plan investment losses.

In addition to her ERISA litigation and employee benefits work, Ms. Cerrone handles matters involving wage and hour disputes, class and collective actions, discrimination, sex harassment and ADA claims. She also has experience handling traditional labor law matters, including collective bargaining and defending unfair labor practice charges.

“Joining Jackson Lewis was an attractive option because of its excellent reputation and talented team of attorneys,” said Cerrone. “The firm’s already existing ERISA litigation practice and expansive class action practice provide an excellent platform for me. I have previously worked with several members of their Employee Benefits practice years ago so I am aware of the excellent lawyering at the firm. Jackson Lewis has a great culture and focuses on developing creative and personalized solutions for clients which is very important to me.”

Ms. Cerrone earned her J.D from Tulane University Law School and her B.S. from Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
