Taylor Porter Partner Tom Peak has been elected to the Board of Trustees of the Louisiana Veterans Museum Foundation, which supports the operations and programs of the USS Kidd Veterans Museum.
Located in downtown Baton Rouge, the USS Kidd (DD-661), a Fletcher-class destroyer, is the centerpiece of a memorial that serves to honor the men and women of American armed forces, and is the only surviving U.S. destroyer still in her World War II configuration. Peak’s grandfather was the captain of the USS Chicopee and USS Winged Arrow during World War II, following his service in the Army during World War I.
At Taylor Porter, Peak has practiced for more than 36 years in labor and employment law, including labor relations (representing management), wage hour and employment discrimination, employee benefits litigation (ERISA and COBRA), employment eligibility and certification (under the immigration laws), workers’ compensation (representing management), and OSHA matters. Peak serves as the chair of the Taylor Porter Personnel Committee. He is an adjunct professor at Louisiana State University, currently teaching a course in “Legal and Ethical Issues in Human Resource Development” at the LSU School of Leadership & Human Resource Development.
