TAYLOR PORTER BROOKS & PHILLIPS LLP: McMahen Selected to LABI Emerging Leaders Council

Solution

Taylor, Porter, Brooks & Phillips LLP issued the following announcement on Feb. 25.

Taylor Porter attorney Coulter McMahen has been selected to the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (“LABI”) Emerging Leaders Council, a select group of distinguished young executives from each region of Louisiana and across a range of industry sectors who have a demonstrated commitment to making the state a great place to live and work.

LABI, the official Louisiana chapter for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Manufacturers, serves its broad membership by working towards the singular goal of fostering a climate for economic growth through consistently championing the principles of the free enterprise system. For more than 40 years, LABI has used its credibility and influence to effect legislative change and create a pro-business climate to grow Louisiana’s economy.

At Taylor Porter, McMahen practices in commercial litigation, sports law, and business and corporate law, representing clients across a wide spectrum of industries including public utilities, education, healthcare, insurance and financial institutions. A graduate of both LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center (J.D., 2017) and LSU (B.S., 2013), McMahen joined Taylor Porter after clerking for Chief Judge S. Maurice Hicks, Jr. of the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana.

In the community, McMahen is also a member of the Pelican Leadership Academy, Class of 2021. The Academy informs, educates and connects the emerging and experienced leaders in Louisiana to some of the state’s biggest assets and most daunting challenges. He serves as board secretary of the Star & Crescent Foundation, established by alumni of LSU’s Gamma Chapter of Kappa Sigma Fraternity to carry on the fraternity’s legacy and build upon its core values of fellowship, leadership, scholarship and service. He also volunteers with The Miracle League at Cypress Mounds, a nonprofit that provides children with any type of disability or special needs the opportunity to play baseball as part of team and an organized league.
