The Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans filed suit against Zeaborn GmbH and CO KG, owners of the cargo container ship M/V ER London that allegedly caused damage to the gantry crane at Napoleon Avenue Wharf.

According to the complaint filed on April 14 in the Eastern Louisiana U.S. District Court, the ship was departing the wharf on April 14, 2020 when it collided with the gantry crane; the Board alleges the collision caused serious damage to the crane and its surrounding structures.

The crane was removed and underwent significant repairs.

Zeaborn is charged with a maritime lien and negligence.

The Board is represented by Jean-Paul A. Escudier, Michelle W. Scelson and Gina M. Palermo.
