Saluting a true trailblazer of our time – BG partner Arthur Bryant was awarded the War Horse Award which is given to lawyers who are leaders in the trial bar, have made “extraordinary contributions” and are also “true characters” to the cause of justice. On February 17, as part of the Southern Trial Lawyers Association's Annual War Horse Gala in New Orleans, LA, Arthur was given the organization’s highest honor. BG lawyers Lori Bullock, Jade Smith-Williams, and Marc Weintraub also attended the event in support of Arthur’s work. The former Chairman and Executive Director of Public Justice, Arthur has won major victories and established precedents in constitutional law, consumer protection, toxic torts, civil rights, class actions, and mass torts. The National Law Journal recently honored him as a 2021 Trailblazer in Sports Law and has twice named him one of the 100 Most Influential Attorneys in America. In the past year, Arthur has won Title IX settlements preserving women's (and men's) intercollegiate athletic opportunities and advancing gender equity at Brown University, the College of William & Mary, Clemson University, the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, East Carolina University, the University of St. Thomas, La Salle University, Dartmouth College, and Dickinson College. Arthur has successfully represented more female (and male) athletes and potential athletes in Title IX litigation against schools and universities than any lawyer in the country.
